Rioni Hostel
Brand Identity
Mythical Origins
In Greek mythology, Jason and the Argonauts sailed to the kingdom of Colchis in search of the Golden Fleece, travelling along the River Phasis, known today as the Rioni River.
Situated on its banks, Rioni Hostel draws its identity from this enduring legend. The result is a brand that connects the hostel to both its remarkable setting and the spirit of adventure that has defined the river for centuries.
Adventure Begins Here
Located on the banks of the Rioni River in western Georgia, Rioni Hostel wanted an identity rooted in both its surroundings and the ancient Greek myth of Jason and the Argonauts. A golden ram icon references the legend of the Golden Fleece, while hand-drawn wave patterns echo the movement of the river, creating a visual language that feels welcoming and unmistakably connected to place.
This foundation provides a rich platform for storytelling, inspiring a sense of adventure and exploration while giving weary travellers a memorable emblem to seek out at the end of their own journey.
Purposefully simple, the identity is built around three core elements: the ram, the typography and the wave pattern. Their flexibility allows the brand to adapt effortlessly across signage, print, merchandise and digital applications while maintaining a distinctive and cohesive character.
“Honestly, everyone fucking loves the brand. I couldn't be happier with it.”
– Hamish Campbell-Jack, Owner
